AstraZeneca's drug seroquel has been linked to diabetes and weight gain for several years, but they are just now telling doctors. Two years ago, they warned Japanese doctors to stop prescribing the drug to certain people because it may lead to diabetes or elevated blood sugar. Why didn't they tell American doctors at the same time? Seroquel is AstraZenaca's second best selling drug, bringing in 4.5 billion dollars per year. Maybe that has something to do with it.
